JB Heritage Consulting has provided heritage advice in support of the conversion of a Grade II* listed hall in South Cambridgeshire. The hall, situated within the remains of a former parkland setting, is in need of a new use that will fund its repair and ongoing maintenance. The proposed development will see the building refurbished for office accommodation.
The design development was supported by an assessment undertaken by JB Heritage of the significance of the different parts of the building and its setting, informed by on site survey and archival research. The Heritage Statement set out a comprehensive statement of significance and impact assessment, justifying the design approach and strategy commensurate with its Grade II* listing.
Planning and listed building consent have been granted by Greater Cambridge Shared Planning within the 8-week determination period which is an excellent result and will ensure that the repair works to this important building can progress without delay.
