Cambridge Judge Business School

Project details

  • Client: University of Cambridge
Preparation of a Heritage Statement to support a detailed planning and listed building consent application for the Simon Sainsbury Centre by Stanton Williams at the grade II* listed former Addenbrookes Hospital, now the Cambridge Judge Business School.

In a previous role, Joanna provided lead built heritage services to the University of Cambridge in support of the redevelopment of a site to the rear of the listed Judge Business School. This former hospital was comprehensively redesigned in the 1990s by John Outram, creating a layering of architectural special interest. The scheme proposed the redevelopment of two nurses’ hostels to the rear within the conservation area. Joanna prepared the Heritage Statement in support of the application and provided input to discussions with key stakeholders, including presenting to the City’s Design and Conservation Panel.
